We had a nice Memorial Service for Mom. I took some pictures after to share with you all.
We had one of mom's favorite songs played "In The Garden" Many of the Journal Entries were read.

My Mom
My mom was born Judith Ann Nold on January 3, 1944 to Orian & Viola Nold in Gettysburg, SD. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, cousin, wife, mother, Aunt, Grandmother, traveler, artist, animal lover, band geek, singer, pianist, 4H ist (if that is even a word), comedian, hat enthusiast and blogger ... just to name a few.
Mom spent her first 5 years living on the family farm in Gettysburg and then moved into town. As a child she went hunting with her dad and helped on the farm. She had a lot of cousin to play with growing up and the cousins felt that mom was their protector. As Mom got older she learned to play the piano, sang in the All state Choir, played the flute and piccolo in band and was in 4H. Growing up she was given the nickname bug by one of her Aunts and throughout the years it changed to doodlebug and then to JudiBug.
Mom married and became a mother of two. Being an Air Force wife she lived in Sherman, TX, Rhine Mine, AFB, Germany; Holloman AFB, NM; and then came to Brooks AFB, TX. She worked outside of the home, while in New Mexico she worked at the PX and then for Presto manufacturing. When we moved to San Antonio she worked for Scobey Moving and Storage, Economics Laboratory, Salem Sayers Baptist Church as the bookkeeper and retired from Tex-Tel communications.
Mom was very artistic. Growing up I remember she had many hobbies ... such as Tri Chem, latch hook, crocheting afghans, dolls, pillows etc, needle point, decorating Tshirts, making jewelry, panting, quilting and making graphics ... just to name a few.
She loved the color red (our splash of red today is in her memory) yellow, brown, rust ... (a lot of earth tones ... totally different than mine -- maybe that's why we never shopped much together).
Mom wasn't born in Texas but she was a Texan. She loved Bluebonnets, chili peppers, going to the rodeo and anything western themed.
Mom saw my brother and me get married and start our own families. With us kids gone mom's "adventurous" side emerged .... the mystery of where I got my sense of adventure was finally solved. Mom traveled to many places .. California, Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Dublin Ireland, France and Switzerland to name a few.
Mom's hobby the last couple of years was blogging. Mom created a cat blog featuring her cats Sammy and Andy and started making graphics. Mom always had a love for hats and began hatting others in her blogging community. This consisted of cutting out a picture of a hat and placing it into another picture on top of a cat or dogs head. Mom was loved and known for her hatting on the blog. Mom didn't get out much (which drove me nuts) but she belonged to a wonderful community of friends from all over the world who loved her dearly. Just one of the many comments to her passing was "Your mother left a lasting imprint on many. She will be missed." And there is no doubt in my mind that my mother did make a lasting imprint in many, many lives.
It was very important for me to let you all know about my mother, and to remind my family of who she was. We weren't really close growing up, but God brought us back together about 10 years ago. We started out going on adventures to Los Maples, Canyon Lake to see the Blue bonnets, trips to the River Walk, Sunken Gardens, pumpkin patches and many other places. During this time, little did I know that God had another plan in mind that would bring her to live with me and the girls. I thank God for the time I got to spend with my mother and feel blessed that I got to know her.

LaurynBug got up and shared a dream that she had the night before Mimi passed and she knows it was God's way of letting her see "healthy" Mimi one last time and Mimi will always be watching over us and that we need to remember the "healthy" mimi and not the one that got sick.
