Hi All!!! Sorry we haven't posted in awhile, things have been a little hectic around here.
Time for a Mama/JudiBug update.
Mama/JudiBug stubbed her toe about a month ago. She doesn't know how it happen .... our guess is she was on so much morphine she didn't feel it. She was taking antibiotics, but her big toe and the toe next to it is now necrosising (turning black/gangrene, due to circulation problems.) Due to her cancer surgery is not an option. She is down to about 90lbs and only eating a few bites at meal times. She is still getting out of bed and can carry on a conversation (but she does zone out from time to time .. more than likely from the amount of morphine she is on.)
Due to the circulation problem in her toes her body will now start producing more toxins. These toxins will speed up the cancer. We weren't given a time frame, but was told if she had 1 year left it would be cut down to 6 mos. :o(
She wanted us to tell everyone hello and she thinks of you all often!!

If your hospice can give you this little book, I believe it may be of help to you now and in the days ahead ~ it was given to me only on the last day of Vic's life, and I truly wish I had been able to read it sooner.
It is called "Gone From My Sight:
The Dying Experience" by Barbara Karnes, RN. I think most hospice facilities would have this on hand.
I wish you and your family well, and when you next visit with Judi, please tell her that Ann (Zoolatry) and Victor (Cat In The Bag) think of her, and remember our early blog days. Vic first came to know Judi long before SASS even began ... he so much enjoyed their "chats" ...

I am sorry to hear of her of her toe. My grandma has circulation problems with her legs too. She has congestive heart failure and regular surgery isn't an option for her. She recently had toes removed--using a "nerve block." IDK if that's an option for Judi but you might ask.

Damn, that's not what we were hoping to read - nor, I guess, what you wanted to write. It's Thanksgiving here in canada, and part of what we are grateful for is having found the Cat Blogosphere and SASS. The best of luck to you.
Judi is so special, and so talented. I miss her emails and her personally on her special blog. So glad for your update as I think of her often and wondered how she is doing. Just got a new computer (if you get a chance to see our blog, you'll understand why... orphans caused a peeing incident!). You have all been on our prayer list for some time. We will be sending extra purrs & prayers out for this. The nerve blog sounds like a good idea. I've had surgery done with a combo of that and the Oh My? Where was I? drugs but given her weight they still might not want to chance it. ::hugs::
