Tortie Tuesday with Shelly

Things are definitely getting better around
here....we went two or three days without
any "hissy fits" from either of the boys!!!

Then Monday  morning about 4:30 am,
we had a confrontation.....
it upset our mama terribly,
so we will all try harder to
get along.

I just want the boys to love me!!!!!

Love and purrs,

Shelly Belle

Shelly sweet baby..beautiful girl, I so hope that things will get better right away for you. I am sad that you are sad and not able to enjoy your new home. I hope the boys will realize that you are no threat and that you're just trying to have a peaceful time. But they don't understand because they were the only babies in the house for a long time. Maybe soon, sweetness. ♥

Don't worry, Sweet Shelly. Sometimes these things take time. We will keep purring and praying that Sammy and Andy will warm up to you soon.

Don't worry little Shelly... the boys will come around. In fact, it sounds as if you're making great progress. Have to have a little setback now and then, but you'll win them over.

special pawhugs to you, Max

Beautiful Shelly, don't give up! It can take a long time, even years in rare cases. And sometimes cats never warm up to each other, as we know! So we think you're doing really well!

We know it can be hard, but focus on the fact that you had several good days before that one confrontation.

At our house, we worry about Spud cause one of these days he is gonna tick off Ivy and she is gonna knock him into next week. So mom understands!!

Shelly aren't those silly boys a pain in the
butt we think they are frightened by your charm and pretty face and furs. We're sure your mom will give them a good talking to and tell them to be kind to a you. If that doesn't work try giving them a smack on their noses.

Dear Shelly,
Yous should give your Mama lots of kisses and cuddles and then be nice to Sammy and Andy! Me tries to be nice to Kozmo, but sometimes, he needs a licking and that is usually in the middle of the night too!

Mom just saw your note about names for the kittens and she LOVES it. She loves to pick unique names and names kittens in groups. Once she decides, this group will be named in your honor!! THANKS

Shelly, for some weird reason, kitties get along faster with dogs than other kitties. You just have to give them a little more time.

Hi Shelly! Don't worry, they will love you soon. It takes time when the boys are older sometimes, but they will come around. We have the same problem at our house (you think older boys are bad, you should see how hissy older ladycats can be!) There is still hissing sometimes and sometimes big fights but that is just part of getting to know one another. You haven't been there too long so don't worry - it is still very new to everyone. Mom has heard that if you make everyone smell the same with a drop of vanilla on everyones head (we have heard perfume too - we think it is usually vanilla because if someone licks it they will not have any issues) that can help - but our mom never actually tried it. She has been known to sprinkle us with cat nip on occasion though (and that does help a little bit for a little while sometimes).

Keep trying, Shelly! We know how long it can take. After 2.5 years, Tucker will still hiss at Sadie several times per week. We know he won't hurt her, but it's still sad to see. You can win them over, though! We know you can.

Rene said...

Hmmm, your font makes it look like 25 years, not two-and-a-half like we meant, LOL!

Rut roh - were you all fighting over who got first dibs on breakfast? A little spat here and there is OK, it really does sound like you are all starting to get along better. Paws crossed for another long stretch of peace.

Miss Shelly, there have been rumors flying around here of a *gasp* Bad Kitty bottle. The rumor is that one is going to be purchased and will be aimed at certain orange cats who stalk grey cats. We hope no bottles show up at your house!
