I've camo'ed myself in hopes my sisfurs can't see me!!!!!!!!! It's difficult to get any rest with those two young upstarts chasing all over the house!!!!!!!!!!

We are all concerned about our mama. She is still rapidly losing weight and in almost constant pain.

She has to have a CT scan on February 9th, and is scheduled for another colonoscopy on February 17th. The gastro doctor is requesting all her medical records regarding her colon surgeries in 2003-2005. Please continue to pray, purr, and grrrr for her.

Mama's SandyMan and Peanut!!!

Mama lived in Germany for 4 years......1970-1974. While there, she acquired a pair of long-haired dachshunds....Sandy and Schatzi. When mama returned to the States, Sandy and Schatzi came with her.

Darling Peanut!!!!! Another homeless kitty that showed up at our mama's house and never left. He was such a friendly loving boy and gave everyone a lot of joy.....even SandyMan....:) Everyone always told her that all the homeless cats and dogs had a mark on her house so they'd know where to go!!!!!

We are so thankful mama has us now, or she'd be so very lonesome!!!!!

The other day we found Andy laying in the bath tub

Mama sees her primary care doctor next Thursday.....the 26th....to get the results of a couple of tests.

And she will see the gastroenterologist for a consult on January 30th, as he will be out of town all next week. Mama is really nervous about what the gastro doc will find, because of her past colon surgeries and history, so please remember her in your purrs, grrs and prayers.

Note from Mama: Sierra is growing by leaps and bounds......she is already longer than Shelly and almost as tall as Shelly...and she is only about 7 months old. Shelly will soon be the "little sister"!!!!!!!!!!

Update on MamaBug:

Mama had her appointment yesterday. She is very deficient in Vitamin D and will be taking megadoses of it until she is within normal limits again.

She tested borderline diabetic, so a more advanced test was ran to see where she really stands.....she couldn't remember the name of the test. :)

The doctor was most concerned about the fact she has lost more than 55 pounds in the last couple of months and that she can hardly eat anything without getting nauseated. That along with the other stomach and bowel problems she's having is getting her sent to a gastroenterologist.

The doctor also confirmed that mama has 3 hernias from all the colon surgeries she had a few years ago....and after they find out what's going on down there, it will be decided what to do.

Please be praying for our sweet mama as she is in lotza stomach pain daily.....and arthritic pain depending on weather.

I love my mama so much, and spend most of my time near her.....and I sleep with her at night. Mama very seldom leaves the house, but last Friday she left and was gone for a looooooooooonnnnnnnnng time and now this morning she left AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooooo sad and miss her so much!!!!!!!!

Something about she had to go to the human vet!!!!!!!!! I hope he doesn't hurt her and that she'll soon be home again!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday Mama had blood work, x-rays and several other tests performed. She returns to the doctor this coming Wednesday morning, and we'll have more to report then.

When mama was in x-ray, her and the x-ray technician got to talking about their kitties. The tech has 2 beautiful gray tabby girls.

Christmas Rum Cake

Christmas Rum Cake

1 Tsp. Sugar
1 or 2 Quarts of Rum
1 Cup Dried Fruit
Brown Sugar
1 Tsp. Soda
1 Cup Butter
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup Baking Powder
3 Juiced Lemons
1 Cup of Nuts
Before starting, sample rum to check quality. Good, isn't it? Now proceed.

Select large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc.

Check rum again. It must be just right. To be sure rum is of proper quality, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat.

With electric mixer, beat 1 cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add 1 seaspoon of thusar and beat again.

Meanwhile, make sure rum is still alrighty. Try another cup. Open second quart if necessary.

Add leggs, 2 cups of fried druit and beat til high. If druit gets stuck in beaters, pry loose with drewscriber.

Sample rum again, checking for tonscisticity.

Next, sift 3 cups pepper or salt (really doesn't matter).

Sample rum.

Sift 1/2 pint lemon juice.

Fold in chopped butter and strained nuts.

Add 1 bablespoon of brown sugar-or whatever color you can find.

Wix mell.

Grease oven.

Turn cake pan to 350 gredees.

Pour mess into boven and ake.

Check run again and bo to ged.

Not stockings, but boots, at the foot of their bed,

When all of a sudden, from out of the still night,
There came such a ruckus, it gave me a fright.

And I saw 'cross the prairie, like a shot from a gun,
A loaded up buckboard, come on at a run,
The driver was "Geein" and "Hawin", with a will,
The horses (not reindeer) he drove with such skill.

"Come on there Buck, Poncho, & Prince, to the right,
There'll be plenty of travelin' for y'all tonight."
The driver in Levi's and a shirt that was red,
Had a ten-gallon Stetson on top of his head.

As he stepped from the buckboard, he was really a sight,
With his beard and mustache, so curly and white.
As he burst in the cabin, the children awoke,
And were so astonished, that neither one spoke.

And he filled up their boots with such presents galore,
That neither could think of a single thing more.
When Buddy recovered the use of his jaws,
He asked in a whisper, "Are you really Santa Claus?"

"Am I the real Santa? Well, what do you think?"
And he smiled as he gave a mysterious wink.

Shelly and Sierra have become great friends. The Boys have learned when they are playing that they have to lay out of the main pathways or they will get trampled as the girls chase each other and play.

This isn't a very good picture as they were moving. I was thrilled to get it as had been trying for ages to get one, but they just move too fast, and I always ended up with a picture without the girls!!!!

I hope you will enjoy this video of me at the vets.....they got me soooooooooooo dirty!!!!!!!!! It's kinda long, but Sister Bean said she didn't have anything else to do!!!!!!

I now know what a v-e-t is.....and I must say that even though they poked and prodded me and did unmentionable things....and got me really, really, really dirty.....I was a really good girl and charmed everyone there!!!!

I got an excellent report....all tests turned out fine. Doc says I am about 6 months old....at first he thought I was older (because of my size) but when he looked in my mouth, he said 6 months. Mama has been saying I'm going to be a big girl.......I already weigh 7 pounds, which is only a pound less than Shelly weighed at a year and a half old!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a return appointment on the 12th for what mama calls a "Spa Day"......and a gardenectomy!!!!!
Does that mean I get to smell the roses????????

We are so sad today.....our dear, sweet furiend "Bubba" ran off to the Rainbow Bridge last night. We will miss him so very, very much. Shelly here to report on my new sisfur, Sierra. She is settling in really well, and seems to get along with all of us. She may be the smallest, but she's the bravest and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything, anyone or anycat!!!

Since her second day here, her and I have been fast becoming friends......the old guys lay off to the side of the room and watch us girls play with each other....they have learned they need to lay out of the way, or when we are chasing each other, we'll run over them!!!!!!

Introducing Sierra

Tuesday morning when Sisterbean opened the door, this kitten ran in and didn't want to leave, even after she saw us giants that live here!!!!!

She's very tame and the humans think she is so very loveable!!!!! We are checking around the apartment complex to see if she somehow got out of her apartment on Halloween, but we are very fearful that she was either dumped or her previous people moved and left her behind. People can be so cruel to us pawsers!!!!

So far, things are progressing well and there haven't been too many tussles involved. The humans have all fallen in love with her and have named her Sierra.....so if no one claims her, we will become SASS!!!!!!!!!!!

Mama calls her a tortico.....tortie and calico!!!!!

Now for our bad news........mama lost her external hard drive yesterday......it had all her pictures,
add- ons for her graphics program, all her filters, picture tubes, and anything she's made for anyone in the past.

She had several Christmas themes done for those whose blogs she maintains, but those are all totally gone. She is hoping to still be able to make everyone Christmas themes, but at this place in time, she can't promise it.

Sammy here......I thought I might like to check out the red cube, but it seems Shelly is ALWAYS in it!!!!!!!!!

We were without electrical power most of yesterday. The generator for our building gave out at 1:45 a.m. and the new generator didn't arrive until 1:30 p.m (nearly 12 hours later).....and then it wasn't up and running until 5:45p.m.........didn't bother us kitties, but mama got quite bored and it also got mighty hot in here!!!!!
